I want to be honest about something we don’t always talk about enough in business.
Not every season is a growth season.
Sometimes the bravest, most strategic thing you can do is pause, step back, and ask:
“Is the way I’m building this still aligned with the life and business I actually want?”
Because the reality is - most of the wins we see online have usually come after a few failures, false starts, hard decisions, expensive lessons, and quiet moments where someone nearly gave up.
But when all we see are the highlights, it can make you feel like you’re behind.
Like everyone else is flying.
Like you’re the only one who feels tired, stretched, or unsure.
You’re not.
Even established business owners go through seasons where things feel heavy.
Where the growth is there, but the cost of holding it all starts to show.
Where the business looks successful from the outside, but behind the scenes you’re asking:
“Is this still working for me?”
“Do I still want to build it this way?”
“Why does success feel so draining?”
That was me recently.
I took the whole of April off.
Q1 had been full on. I had been trying different strategies in my coaching business, and they required a lot of energy.
There were highs, yes.
But there were also dips.
I had to let two team members go in a short space of time.
I was carrying too much mentally.
And by the end of it, I felt drained.
So in April, I made a decision.
I did the bare minimum needed to keep the business ticking over, and I gave myself space to think.
- Not tweak another funnel.
- Not create another offer.
- Not force more content.
- Not push through for the sake of “momentum”.
I went back to basics and asked myself one very uncomfortable question:
“Who am I, and are the things I’m doing actually aligned with that?”
I sat with that question in silence, meditation, and prayer.
And once I got clear, I started looking properly at everything I was carrying.
I retired a product I had sold for years because the market had moved on.
I restructured my content and business with the help of AI.
I joined an organisation whose ethos I really believe in, and I’m looking forward to working with them.
I audited my financial and tech stack and cancelled long-standing plans I no longer needed.
I revisited my 2026 plans and started simplifying.
I removed things that were not taking me closer to the life and business I actually want.
I also said no to opportunities I would have probably accepted in Q1.
And that was a big one.
Because sometimes the issue isn’t that you don’t have opportunities.
It’s that too many opportunities are pulling you away from the thing you said you wanted.
The result?
I feel empowered again.
Not because everything is suddenly perfect.
But because I have more space.
More clarity. Less stress. Less anxiety.
And a stronger sense that I’m building something that fits the life I want, not just something that looks good on paper.
That matters.
Because established business owners don’t just need more growth.
They need growth that is sustainable.
They need business models, systems, offers, teams, and decisions that don’t quietly drain the life out of them.
So if things feel weighty right now…
If you feel stretched, foggy, tired, or slightly disconnected from the business you’ve built…
Please know you are not alone. It may not mean you’re failing.
It may simply mean something needs to change.
So slow down long enough to ask yourself:
“What do I actually want my life and business to look and feel like?”
Then look at what is really working.
Look at what is costing you too much.
Look at what you are holding onto because it used to work, not because it still serves you.
And start removing the fluff. The unnecessary complexity.
- The outdated offers.
- The systems you’ve outgrown.
- The commitments you said yes to from pressure, not alignment.
What you’re left with should, over time, get you closer to the business and life you actually want.
And yes, you can absolutely start again.
Even from here.
Especially from here.
